Scribble Poetry

Repetition

adds emphasis to ideas presented by repeating the same word or phrase, but it can come in many forms. Look for it here:

"Echo" by Christina Georgina Rossetti

Purple by S.M.(M).L.

Some of us won't get very far at all.
Some of us will see the whole world
     traveling to and fro
     taking it all in, dragging
     a paint brush behind us.
A trail left of bold blue
and red gone hither and thither

But some of us will sit
in a rocking chair,
     scribbling, watching the sky
     brighten from red to blue
     through a pictured window.
Words skip across the page
and then closed in on themselves.

Some of this will be left for you to see,
years later when some of us
are gone into the blue of death
and exist only in the red of love.

There's a poet in my soul; she's always been there, but is often neglected.  I'm letting her out here.  I hope you will too.  Here's some unsolicited advice:  When your poet speaks to you, just let it out, there's something there, I promise you.  Here you'll find ideas about how to hone your craft as I practice mine and lead you to some of my favorite published poems and poets.
