How I Found: This one found me, in the mail, from my best friend. Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls quickly became a bedtime favorite for both our son and daughter. In fact, our son was the one who started calling it "my history book." I would read from the table of contents, and the kids would select who they wanted to learn about, a pirate, an archaeologist, a writer, endless options. Much to my joy as I scanned the choices, many of my favorites appeared: The Mirabal Sisters of Alvarez's In the Time of Butterflies, Marie Curie connecting to my new obsession with the Ghost Girls, and the ultimate Phenomenal Woman, Maya Angelou. Yet, these were among many I did not know, several still living and changing the world, so as the crisp pages become dog-earred this has evolved my history too. Why You Might Read: The artistry is amazing paired with a one-page story that hooks readers of every age, informs, and inspires. This is my new go-to gift~thanks bestie. The sequel was a go-fund-me project that far exceeded the authors', Elena Favilli and Francesca Cavallo, expectations, and I can't wait to read it to my children; I hope you will too. Tell Me: Have you read this book? What did you think?
